Foil Conduit began informally in the
back of a car in early 2001 while Inter Ravenous and K, friends from high school, were listening
to a Skinny Puppy album. Inter Ravenous asked K if he would like to start a band.

At this time Inter Ravenous had several years of musical theory and a bit of electronic
experience under his belt, while K seemed to be able to do some descent sounding vocal
work that dynamically ranged from hoarse whispers, soothing croons, to guttural screams and a fundamental understanding of some musical theory.
K agreed and they kept in contact over the phone for several months as K lived in Ottawa while
Inter Ravenous still lived in their home town of Barry's Bay.

The first Foil Conduit track was recorded in a rather silly manner, and
not meant to be serious material as both band members and long time friend Verge had little
to no sleep for two days on April 13, 2001. The exact........mechanics......of how it
was done, and the premise will not be dealt with here, but needless to say the methods were
a bit.....crude at best. The 7 subsequent remixes of the track (Cheese) were also done in a
similar haphazard manner. At this time the band had no gear, no software, and no idea what
the hell they were doing.

In the fall of that same year Inter Ravenous moved to Ottawa with K and
more serious work began. A lack of experience, software, and gear lead to their first few
tracks sounding crude, but far better than the monstrosity that was Cheese. Over several
months they amassed some new equipment and computer programs that greatly improved their sound,
but a fundamental lack of experience had a detrimental effect on their first attempt
at an album: A Wicked Whisper Came.

Work continued and sound and structure improved. New techniques were learned
and even K began taking an active role in the music and it's production. More gear
was amassed and new tracks were recorded. Some still suffered, but overall they were much
better than previous work from AWWC. Contacts were made with other bands, and K began
remixing other artists work and getting involved in several side projects. Inter Ravenous
began experimenting in a few side projects and even went so far as to create several
theme and map tracks for online gaming clans.

Throughout 2002 and 2003 numerous tracks were started but never finished,
or completed but rejected. A few of the better ones can be found on the bands second album
(technically first as the band has no intent to release A Wicked Whisper Came to the general
public),

Uranaphobe. The album contains several tracks composed solely by K (Pax
Inferium, Hell House),and solely by Inter Ravenous with the exception of vocals (Eyes See, The
Death Of Me). Since During the time these tracks were recorded Inter Ravenous was busy with
school and work and K was also busy with work there was little time to actual combine efforts
on many tracks. In the future this will change as time is set aside from their busy schedules
to work more Together than independently.

A lot more hardware was amassed between the
two during this time as well making live shows a possibility. Foil Conduit's first live
performance was in the summer of 2002 in Pembroke ON. Due to its relative closeness to their
hometown, and It's general size many friends and family turned out to see exactly what
the hell the two of them had been up to. Despite the set list being long (2 hours upon request
of event organizers much to the chagrin of K) and riddled with experimental filler
or incomplete songs the show went over better than the two could have hoped for. Several
other smaller shows occurred throughout 2002, but the majority of time was devoted to
completing the album Uranaphobe, and developing better material for live play. K's recent involvement
with the Ottawa group C.P.U (<a href="http://www.cpu.rocks.it">www.cpu.rocks.it </a>) is leading to live gigs in Ottawa and
exposure to a more suitable audience.

K, finding Foil Conduit to be going through a bit of a slump started Delta
Theta Projekt in early 2003. The project is more EBM based and thematic than Foil Conduit.
The purpose of this project was to help him come to terms with certain inner demons
and grow musically without the influence of other people. Foil Conduit is still his
core project and as it grows musically Delta Theta Projekt will either fade away or simply
be assimilated into Foil Conduit itself.

Foil Conduit has definitely had an influence on several likewise new and
independent musicians and bands during the 2 years since it's formation, and those same
bands have a likewise influence on Foil Conduit. Only time will tell how far they will
go as their sound improves, their live presence increases, and more "gear" is acquired.
